Medical Fitness Classes at ExercisAbilities

ExercisAbilities offers a variety of Medical Fitness classes such Adaptive Fitness, Stroke Recovery, Parkinson Wellness Recovery, Yoga and more. See course descriptions and schedules below. A one-time, free SAFE Level Assessment must be done for each participant prior to attending your first class to ensure we match you to the appropriate level course for your ability.

Class Descriptions

Adaptive Fitness I*: An adaptive fitness class that will help anyone regain strength, cardio, and endurance regardless of their level of ability. Specifically designed for a higher level of assistance or use of wheelchair is required. Get moving and get stronger while the Exercise Specialists adapt exercises to your level of ability.

Adaptive Fitness II*: An adaptive fitness class that will help anyone regain strength, cardio, and endurance regardless of their ability level. Get moving and get stronger while the Exercise Specialists adapt exercises to your level of ability.

Learn To Be Fit: This class is designed for the person who has little to no experience to working out in a gym.  In addition, if you have a medical condition or pain you are going to love this class.  You will be guided by a certified Exercise Physiologist in a group setting through cardio and strength exercises.  Our staff know how to adapt anything for you and make it safe for you to get a great workout.  We help anyone get their recommended workout done!

This Week’s Class Schedule

PWR! Moves I: An adaptive fitness class meant for those with Parkinson’s.  Safe for those with fall risk.  Activities are primarily completed seated or with close supervision. Learn to regain functionality and self-confidence for daily tasks.  Caregivers can feel safe to leave their care receiver and seek some respite during the class.

PWR! Moves II: A fitness class designed for those with Parkinson’s Disease or other movement disorders and proven to improve the symptoms of PD.  The class combines components of the Big and Loud Program through use of big movements, vocalization, aerobic exercise, balance training and resistive exercise.  This is more intensive version of PWR moves I, meant for those with higher functionality.  Must be safe to stand and move dynamically without risk of falling.

PWR! Boxing: A boxing fitness class aimed at improving endurance, agility, balance and coordination for those with Parkinson’s Disease or other movement disorders. All ability levels are welcome. Come and join us for a physical, emotional and mental workout! All ages and abilities are welcome at this time (subject to change depending on attendance).

Stroke Fitness:   If you have had a stroke and want to keep active and fit to continue to work on your movement goals in a small group setting, you will love this class!!  Must be able to understand and follow 2 to 3 step commands and be able to sit to stand with only little assistance to safely participate.

$10.00 per day or $50 for a one month unlimited class pass.
